A bear has attacked hunters in Ljusdal. Two people have been taken to hospital, according to the Gävleborg County Administrative Board. The extent of the damage is unclear.
– We have had a colleague on site but we do not have much information, says Sandra Wahlund at the County Administrative Board, to SVT Gävleborg.
According to Sandra Wahlund, the bear was shot to death in connection with the attack. The annual bear hunt began on Monday morning. This year, the hunters are allowed to kill 649 bears – an increase of 27 animals compared to last year. The hunt continues until October 15 at the latest.
