Hundreds of residents enjoy Breakfast with Santa

It’s been three years since the Jolly Elf himself hosted East Side Pride’s Breakfast with Santa, but he still knows how to draw a crowd.

Organizers were delighted with the turnout on Saturday as hundreds of people filed into the WISH Centre’s large gymnasium to enjoy breakfast.

“We’re very impressed,” said East Side Pride chair Bev Webster.

“I would say there’s still a need in the neighborhood to host it,” she added.

Webster said when the free breakfast was held last in 2019 it attracted more than 400 people.

She estimated the event attracted at least an equal number with its return.

Webster thanked members of Chatham-Kent police, fire and EMS who volunteered on Saturday.

The fun continues later on Saturday, when the WISH Center hosts a turkey/ham bingo, beginning at 6:30 pm

Cards are $10 with proceeds helping the local citizen group hold activities such as Breakfast with Santa.

Tickets will also be available for raffle items.
