While the Omicron variant has been talked about lately, a new variant has emerged in this process. The new mutation, called Delmicron, carries the features of both Delta and Omicron. Because the mutation is a combination of the two variants, it’s feared it could be more potent and have serious consequences. So how is the Delmicron variant transmitted, what are the symptoms?
HOW IS THE DELMICRON VARIANT TRANSMITTED?
The new mutation of Covid-19 is Delmicron variant; It is not identified as a new mutating variant of the coronavirus like Alpha, Beta, Gamma and others. The variant in question consists of the combination of two variants present in the epidemic, Delta and Omicron. The new mutation is spreading rapidly, especially in western countries. It is known that the transmission route of the variant is the same as other variants.
It is known that the delta variant continues to dominate, especially from mid-April to mid-June, and is responsible for the second wave of coronavirus, which caused millions of cases. Known for causing severe symptoms, Delta has started a major struggle as it increases the risk of hospitalization. Delta was also known to cause long-term symptoms such as post-infection brain fog, muscle aches and hair loss.
Omicron was first detected in South Africa, and initial data revealed that Omicron causes milder symptoms than the Delta variant.
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF DELMICRON VARIANT?
Because the Delmicron variant was created by combining the Delta and Omicron versions of the coronavirus, it is thought to be more contagious and have the potential to cause severe symptoms. However, studies are still underway to obtain detailed information about the features of the new variant.
Delmicron infection, a combination of Delta and Omicron, shows more or less the same symptoms as the main variants of the disease. However, it is not yet known whether it also carries new symptoms.
