13 beaches were closed due to the first deadly shark attack since 1963 off Sydney, Australia. A swimmer died in Sydney after being attacked by a shark that was at least 3 meters long. Two hours after the attack, the authorities found parts of the swimmer’s lifeless body and pulled it out of the water. “The man was swimming, a shark came and attacked,” said one eyewitness.

“We heard a shout and we turned around, it looked like a car had crashed into the water, then the shark jumped,” another said.
After the first deadly shark attack in the city since 1963, it was decided to close 13 beaches. Signs and barricades will be placed on the beaches to warn swimmers, while lifeguards will patrol the beaches in case of shark attack.
