The day before the festive meals, do you recommend a specific diet?

Be a little more vigilant during the two or three days before. Be sure to moderate your fat consumption and favor foods rich in fiber. You will prepare the digestive tract to the excesses to come. Soups and compotes in particular, but also raw vegetables. You can eat starchy foods, pasta and rice, but limit the amount. Are there foods to avoid during Christmas and New Year’s Eve meals?

The body is not used to digesting the alcohol in large quantities. And to do that, it must first break it down into sugars, which are then stored as fat. Suddenly, while it digests alcohol, it does not burn fat and … it stores them! For the drink, prefer a good wine or a champagne rather than alcohols strong. And if possible limit your consumption to two glasses per meal, four at most.

As to materials fatty, traditional Christmas dishes put them in the spotlight: foie gras, oysters and buttered bread, capon, duck breast … Learn to choose.
