A 17-year-old boy was attacked one night in May and stabbed in the heart. He survived but was very badly injured. Now the 24-year-old perpetrator has been sentenced to eight years in prison for attempted murder, writes Sala Allehanda.

The people involved are familiar with each other from before and the background was a drug conflict.

The now convicted man was waiting for the boy in the stairwell when he came home. They went out for a walk together and it was then that the man attacked with a sharp object, writes Sala Allehanda.

The boy’s injuries were life-threatening and he was sedated for a long time after the incident.

The 24-year-old, who denies any crime, is considered by the Västmanland district court to have “been indifferent to the effect that the plaintiff would die”. The man must also pay damages of just over SEK 280,000 to the victim.
