The year was 2002 and Laila Bagge, 50, was out on tour. One of the stops was Houston, Texas. The musician lived in the room opposite hers Mason Pitts. He was in Houston with a band he was touring with at the time.

In the reality program Lailaland, Laila Bagge has said in retrospect that “sparks flew” the first time they met.
– I didn’t think I could get pregnant at that time. So three months into our relationship I got pregnant and I didn’t even know if we were together, Laila told Lailaland.

At the same time that Laila Bagge became pregnant with Mason Pitts, she was actually still married to Anders Bagge. But in Lailaland, Laila clarified that she and Anders had separated but that they were still married on paper.
– We had both given each other permission to date others, she told Lailaland at the time.

On July 22, 2003, Laila and Mason’s son was born Liam Pitts. In Lailaland, Liam told us that he goes to visit his father in the United States once a year. This summer, Liam was in North Carolina with his dad to celebrate the Fourth of July, and on Instagram he shared photos from the trip.
Today, Liam Pitts has turned 20 years old and runs both his own podcast and has a career as an MMA fighter. But something that maybe not everyone knows about Liam is that Liam isn’t actually his real name.

On Instagram, Laila Bagge shared a story that showed how one of her followers was shocked to tell about her discovery.
“What do we do now? Why doesn’t he rename himself? What, What,” the person in the clip is heard saying.

Laila Bagge says that she has received a lot of direct messages from followers who are shocked that Liam is simply not called Liam.

– His name is William. A lot of people are very surprised, says Laila Bagge and laughs.
And it doesn’t end there. Even Liam himself was surprised by his name. It was only when Liam started first grade, i.e. as a seven-year-old, that he found out the truth.

– The teacher when he was in first grade called William up. He didn’t answer, and I nodded and said “yes, you are”. He raised his hand and then came out and said “My name is not William, my name is Liam”, says Laila.
She says it was because she and Mason just couldn’t agree on a name. Laila wanted the son to be called Liam, but the name was William and so it was decided that he would be called Liam.
– He himself thinks that he has lived a lie until he was seven years old. But now you know too, says Laila Bagge.
