High pressure on reception for young people with mental illness in Örebro

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

On 1 March last year, the new reception was inaugurated on Drottninggatan in Örebro.

– We feel that the callers are positive because they can quickly get in touch. The large groups that come forward suffer from anxiety and depression and neuropsychiatric difficulties, where they want an investigation, says Eva Eriksson, head of the unit First contact mental illness children and young people.

Is there help to be had

It is quite normal to have mental illness for periods during one’s upbringing or one’s lifetime, notes Camilla Eklöv, unit manager for reception of mental illness children and young people in Region Örebro County.

– You shouldn’t be afraid to seek help, because there is help to be had, she says.
