To take advantage of this new functionality and have it verified authenticity selected items, users must pay 10 euros in addition to the original purchase price. These costs include both the service itself and shipping to the verification center. The authentication is carried out in Hamburg, by a team of experts trained specifically for this demanding task. Once authentication has been completed, the buyer will only receive items that have passed the verification successfully, while non-validated products will be fully refunded. They will then have two days to report any problems to Vinted.

In reality, if Vinted is now able to offer this service to its members, it is because in 2022, the Lithuanian company bought a luxury product resale site called Rebel, based in Germany. The item verification platform is already available in this country, as well as in France, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands. Thanks to this innovation, Vinted is taking its first steps in the high-end and luxury sector. And attempts to enter a market which until now was the preserve of premium sites such as Vestiaire Collective, Monogram or Collector Square.
