Here the students go for a walk – for better results in the national exams: “Good for the brain”

It started with an obstacle course and loud music five years ago – a voluntary session just before the exam to counteract the students’ stress.

– Everyone knows that exercise is good for the brain, says Cecilia Lindgren, PE teacher and assistant principal at Klockarberg School in Skinnskatteberg.

Mandatory for all – unclear effect

– The next semester we noticed that it was the same group that came. Since everyone would feel good from exercise, we decided that the activity session would be mandatory.

The school is too small to be able to draw conclusions about whether the exercise led to better results overall.

– But there is no doubt that individual students perform as well as they can, says Cecilia Lindgren.
