At the same time as Sweden’s flag was raised outside NATO’s headquarters in Brussels, the NATO flag was raised on a number of Swedish military bases, including the Swedish Armed Forces’ headquarters in Stockholm.
It has been a long road to membership, which Sweden applied for in May 2022. The Swedes have historically been divided on the NATO issue. And even after the membership is a fact, opinions and feelings are still mixed among the Stockholmers that SVT spoke to.
