The video shows how two of the five horses that broke loose on Djurgården run at full speed among people and cars – in the middle of central Stockholm.
Witness Gabriella caught the incident on film.
– We hear people screaming, children screaming, adults screaming. It was chaos, she says.
It was during the Saturday afternoon that the police and ambulance were alerted that five loose horses ran amok on Djurgården in Stockholm.
According to the police, two of the horses were captured quite quickly, of which the other three horses continued towards Gärdet.
Gabriella Broberg was sitting on a lawn to the right of the Djurgårdsbron, which leads into town, when she heard screams and loud noises. Soon after, she sees three loose horses.
– It thumps and sounds like drums, we wonder what is happening. Then when we look to the left we see the horses. I have never seen horses run so fast in my entire life, says Gabriella Broberg.
People throw themselves to the sides
She tells how people throw themselves to the side, among other things she sees how two adults and a child have to push themselves against the railing of the bridge to avoid being run over. That’s when she picks up her phone and starts filming.

One of the horses collided with a car at the crossing, just after the bridge. The video shows how it stops, while a horse continues at full speed towards Gärdet.

A man and a woman in their 70s were injured after being run over. One serious and the other life-threatening. A 55-year-old man is suspected of grievous bodily harm and causing danger to another.
According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, the horses belong to a company in the event industry.
