Here, eighth graders try to work in healthcare

– The aim is for us to make care and care visible in an exciting way. We sow a small seed that we hope can germinate until their high school choice how exciting it can be in healthcare, says Annika Eriksson who is HR administrator at Kalmar Municipality.

Students are divided into six groups that can try different exercises at six different stations.

– It’s fun, you get to learn how to perform CPR, says student Ibrahim Sad, who goes to Västra skolan in Kalmar.

About the project

The project already started in 2019, but was forced to shut down during the pandemic. The idea is that it will now return for a few weeks at the beginning of each year, says Annika Eriksson.

Kalmar County Health and Care College holds the project in collaboration with Region Kalmar and the municipalities in the county.
