The family is currently going through a tough period when Börje Samling, 71, told us last week that he was affected by the incurable disease ALS. The icon had not been feeling well for a long time and finally received the heavy news.
It naturally took a toll on daughter Bianca, who told about the heavy news when it became known.
“It’s hard to see dad getting worse and worse. Terrible. My heart aches the most at the thought of how dad must feel inside,” she wrote in a text message to Hänt.

Now, despite the current circumstances, Börje Salming is still in Germany to cheer her daughter on from the stands. Mother Katarina can also be seen from the spectator stand.
Bianca Salming started strongly and ran the 100m hurdles, which is one of her weaker events, in 14.37 which is close to her personal best. It went better in the high jump, where she reached 1.86 meters, which is a new year’s best.
