Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

Henrik Stenson has been criticized enormously for switching to the LIV tour.
But the Swede is not discouraged.
He says that he feels better than he has for a long time.
– I have longed for this for 17 years, he says.

The LIV tour, backed by billions and billions of kroner from Saudi Arabia, has attracted some of golf’s absolute biggest names from the PGA and European tours. One of the players who chose to make the move is Henrik Stenson, and his decision has been the one that has been questioned and criticized the most.

Strikes back

Next fall, Henrik Stenson was to be the Ryder Cup captain for Team Europe. It is one of golf’s most honorable missions, and something he himself said he dreamed of. But with the change, Stenson was stripped of the title, and many have also believed that Stenson used the title to get a better negotiating position with the LIV tour.

However, it is information that Stenson sharply denied, and now he hits back properly in an interview with the British Daily Mail.

– I can give you a hundred percent honest answer that it was never like that. I’m willing to take a lie detector test on that, he says to the tabloid.

“Longing for it”

Henrik Stenson has also lost his ambassador title with the Swedish Golf Association, and the criticism against him has been overwhelming in the golf world. Stenson has certainly received a lot of support as well, and he says he feels better than he has for a long time.

– I like being here with the guys on the tour. We play together, travel together and it’s a different “vibe” compared to the regular tour, which I did for so many years. It was good, but I really like this, he says.

In addition, there is another big factor why Stenson took the step over to LIV. The playing schedule is considerably calmer than on the PGA Tour, and now Stenson is looking forward to something he has longed for for more than 30 years.

– I haven’t played anything other than LIV events since last summer, and if you look ahead, I finally get a pre-season that I wanted for 16-17 years. I’m looking forward to it – getting strong and healthy in the gym, and getting ready for a new season in February. I am happy, he says.
