Hector impresses – fiasco for Swenn-Larsson

Sara Hector has been close to the podium in both winter races so far, without quite making it all the way. In the premiere in the favorite discipline giant slalom in Sölden two weeks ago, she finished fourth and in yesterday’s slalom, also in Levi, she finished fifth.

Now the 31-year-old Swede has a new hitting position. Hector had the third fastest time in the first run of today’s slalom, only beaten by yesterday’s superior winner Petra Vlhova and American Mikaela Shiffrin.

However, it continues to be difficult for slalom specialist Anna Swenn-Larsson. During yesterday, she barely qualified for the second run. This time it didn’t even go that far. Swenn-Larsson was over three seconds slower than Vlhova in the first run and did not manage to place himself among the top 30.

Estelle Alphand and Cornelia Öhlund were both slightly faster than Swenn-Larsson, 2.75 behind the Slovakian, and will continue to compete this afternoon.

The first ride is still in progress. The second starts at 1 p.m., Swedish time.
