Hear from Odessa residents that Russian and Ukrainian are spoken in the city

In Odessa, both Russian and Ukrainian are spoken. But after the war broke out, many Odessa residents have started to speak more and more Ukrainian.

– I went to a Russian school and studied at university in Russian, but gradually I switched to Ukrainian. I started speaking this fluently two and a half months ago, says Iryna, who lives in Odessa.

– I will hardly speak Ukrainian on a daily basis. If I have to fill in documents, I’ll have to learn, says Igor, who also lives in Odessa.
