An armed attack took place at Ming Xin primary school in Ranong province of Thailand. A person who was disturbed by the rehearsal performed by a group of students with music at noon last Sunday, fired 18 shots at the primary school.
NO INJURY AND LOSS OF LIVES
While students rehearsing in the garden escaped to the school building after the sound of gunfire, no injuries or casualties were experienced, but the police were called to the school after the attack.
“I DID IT TO FEAR”
It was reported that the gunman lived in the building opposite the school and was taken into custody. In his first statement to the police, 43-year-old Wutthiphong stated that he was disturbed by the noise and did not target the students, but only opened fire to scare them.
Ranong Police Chief Cherdphong Chiewpreecha said in a statement about the incident that there was no loss of life or injury in the attack, and that the attacker was arrested pending trial for attempted murder. It was stated that 2 guns and 1 rifle were seized during the search made in the attacker’s house, and it was announced that the gun license of the attacker was cancelled.
After the attack, the students who came to the school yesterday morning, Ranong Deputy Governor Piyapong Chuwong and the regional police teams were welcomed, while the students and parents were informed about the incident. (UAV)
