He had the nightmare of his life with a fly bite! His face is unrecognizable

He had the nightmare of his life with a fly

Murat Terzi, 48, who went from Zonguldak to Antalya to work as a driver, started to experience various symptoms when he was bitten by an African fly. It was determined that Terzi, who had wounds on his face and arm, contracted leishmaniasis with the bite of an African fly. After the treatment process, the scars on his face remained from the disease.

SYMPTOMS STARTED WITH WEAKNESS AND DIFFICULTY WALKING

Terzi, who applied to the hospital with complaints of weakness and difficulty in walking as a result of the bite of an African fly, also had wounds on his face. Terzi, whose disease could not be diagnosed despite the tests, went to Istanbul where he was treated for two months. Terzi, who was diagnosed with leishmaniasis, recovered after the treatment process. However, traces of the disease remained on his face.

Terzi said, “I went to Antalya. A fly called an African fly bit me. I didn’t realize it. I went in April. In May, sleep, fatigue and weakness started. I couldn’t drive. They wanted to have treatment there, but I didn’t accept it. I came to Zonguldak. They couldn’t make a diagnosis here. I went to Istanbul for treatment. I had wounds on my face, we first suspected a fungal disease. I was hospitalized for two days in the infection department. It was determined that this disease was leishmania. I became unable to walk. Forgetfulness, sleep, and weakness began. I was discharged from the hospital. I couldn’t walk even after I died. I couldn’t even carry a kilo of weight. Even now I seem fine, but I don’t have the strength. I will still be in treatment for another year. I’ve had such an incident. They did their best at Capa Medical Faculty. God bless the state. I did not give money, including a penny. There are really expensive drugs, but I did not pay a penny. May God be pleased with our state.” said.

Explaining that he became unrecognizable due to his injuries, Murat Terzi said, “There was a wedding of my relatives or friends. I couldn’t go out. Even I still show my old photos, my friends don’t believe me. I couldn’t go out. It was a very difficult process. “Although it was not a contagious disease, people did not approach me. My body was especially infected with infection. My treatment will still continue. But I am fine now, my wounds have shed,” he said. On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Rafet Koca stated that the aforementioned leishmaniasis parasite is carried by flies and wounds can occur wherever the fly infects the parasite.
