Harry Kane’s double took England to the European Championship – now top scorer at Wembley

– The qualification is never easy. Sometimes we are expected to just go to the big tournaments but we have seen in the past that it is not as easy as it looks, says Kane according to the BBC.

Kane has now scored 24 goals at Wembley and is England’s sole top goalscorer at the venue, having overtaken Bobby Charlton, the world champion from the 1966 home championship, who had 23 strikes at Wembley.

– I love scoring goals at Wembley, which is our home. We have made it our castle in recent years and have been able to please our fans. I like records but now we have to look ahead and see how far we can go in next year’s EC, says Kane.

Kane has been given a new lease of life at Bayern Munich

The summer move from Tottenham to Bayern Munich seems to have given 30-year-old Harry Kane a new lease of life.

In the seven opening games in the Bundesliga, the striker has scored eight goals – and in Tuesday night’s European Championship qualifier at home against Italy, Kane showed that his form is still good.

First, he equalized at 1-1 with a penalty midway through the first half – just that strike meant that England’s place at the European Championships was complete, because a point was enough for the English in advance.

Kane wasn’t done

Questioned Marcus Rashford made it 2-1 before Kane single-handedly ran in from the Italian defense and coolly slotted in to make it 3-1. A class action, a class goal.

Kane, who is England’s all-time top goalscorer, has now scored 61 goals in 87 internationals.

Before kick-off at Wembley, a minute’s silence was held, among other things to honor the Swedish victims of the suspected terrorist attack in Brussels on Monday evening.

The EC in Germany begins on June 14 next summer.
