Hacker group Anonymous declares cyber war against Russia – claims to have toppled several Russian administration sites

Hacker group Anonymous declares cyber war against Russia claims

Ukrainian music was broadcast on the website of the Russian RT channel for at least some time. Due to the clandestine activities of the Anonymous group, it is difficult to say whether all the cyber attacks that have been carried out are really done by it.

The hacker group Anonymous says that in recent days it has managed to bring down, among other things, the website of the state-run RT-TV channel, which is mainly directed abroad, as well as the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The purpose of the group is to prevent Russian propaganda and to support positive information for Ukraine.

The hacker group said it had launched an attack on Russia on Thursday after Russia’s hostilities against Ukraine had begun.

The RT channel’s website managed to promote Ukrainian music and the country’s national symbols for at least some time.

The group is using a denial-of-service attack as a means of directing so much traffic to the site that it cannot be reached.

However, on Monday morning, several sites that had been attacked were already in operation. The group says it will continue the attacks.

RT spoke openly about the difficulties with his site. It called them caused by the Anonymous group and claimed the attacks were from the United States.

Due to the clandestine activities of the Anonymous group, it is difficult to say whether all the cyber attacks on the name of the group were actually done by it.

Anonymous has previously attacked the site of the CIA and the Islamic terrorist organization ISIS, among others, in the United States.

In the United States, several members of the group were arrested and convicted a few years ago for computer crimes, but the group became active after police killed George Floydin under arrest in the United States in 2020.
