Harmelen residents Marco van der Straten and neighbor Jan Kooijman are quite satisfied with the options. Their backyards border the greenhouse garden area. “You don’t want to look at houses,” says Jan. And then there is another important point, Marco believes: Harmelen should remain a village and not be included in Utrecht. “I like going to Utrecht,” says Marco. “But I also really enjoy going back to peace and quiet. Fresh air!”
