Alexander Isak is reported to be ready for the Premier League and Newcastle United. The deal is said to cost close to SEK 750 million. A sum that makes the rival’s supporters cheer.
The Swedish national team striker is by all accounts on his way to the Premier League and games in Newcastle. Local newspaper Diario Vasco reported on Wednesday afternoon that Real Sociedad had agreed terms with the Premier League side, becoming the club’s most expensive sale ever.
The rival cheers
Several other and credible sources hung on the information and said that Alexander Isak even agreed with Newcastle on the personal terms. A sum of up to SEK 750 million is reported, and the price makes one of Newcastle’s rivals rejoice.
They have been rumored several times that Arsenal were interested in Alexander Isak. But with their purchase of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, they withdrew from the pursuit of the Swedish striker.
Now Arsenal fans are rejoicing at the fact that they got Jesus for a significantly lower sum than what Newcastle are said to be paying for Isak.
“That is sick”
“If Isak costs £60m, then Edu (Arsenal’s sporting director) should have a statue outside the Emirates for selling Gabriel Jesus for £45m,” writes one user on Twitter.
“Alexander Isak is a good player. But that’s a crazy amount of money for a striker who accounted for 33 goals in six seasons. It’s crazy that we got Gabriel Jesus for £45m,” writes another.
Alexander Isak opened his goal account for the season when he deliciously chipped in Real Sociedad’s equalizer against Barcelona last weekend.
