Google Chrome Introduces a New Keyboard Shortcut

Google Chrome has long offered a full-screen mode on desktops, but how to access and exit it across platforms has never been particularly standardized. This may be changing, as Google has introduced a flag that provides an easy-to-use keyboard shortcut to exit full screen. It is much more intuitive than the different options currently available.

Google Chrome is being updated with new features

The new shortcut may be ready for testing soon. Google added a pretty self-explanatory chrome://flags/#press-and-hold-esc-to-exit-browser-fullscreen flag to Chrome Canary 124, as spotted by @Leopeva64 in Its accompanying description reads: “Allows users to hold down the Esc key to exit the browser’s full screen. While the flag is not currently functional in our testing, it is likely rolling out to all desktop platforms at some stage.
