The Tunisian Ons Jabeur, 7th player in the world and twice finalist of Grand Slam tournaments, passed without incident the first round Tuesday, May 30 at Roland-Garros by dismissing 6-4, 6-1, the Italian Lucia Bronzetti (65th) . Spending just over an hour on the Philippe-Chatrier court, Jabeur made a successful entry into the running thanks in particular to 27 winning shots (only seven from Bronzetti). Finalist at Wimbledon then at the US Open last year, Jabeur is still chasing after her first Grand Slam victory, and has never gone beyond the stage of the knockout stages at Porte d’Auteuil, which she has reached twice. (2020, 2021). The Tunisian will find a Frenchwoman in the second round: Océane Dodin, or Selena Janicijevic, who also face each other on Tuesday.
