Golf: Madelene Sagström saved the round on the 18th hole – putt an eagle

Sagström, whose game chipped precariously from his lead ball, holed the long eagle putt on the closing 18th hole and the worried face was replaced by a big smile.

Instead of being tied for sixth five strokes behind Patty Tavatanakit, Sagström is now alone second only three teams behind, – 13 against – 16 where they go into the lead early Sunday morning.

  • Started with two birdies

It started perfectly for the Swede with two birdies but then the game started to falter as Tavatanakit excelled in the stifling heat.

After her second bogey on the seventh hole, Sagström was suddenly six strokes behind her partner Tavatanakit, who played great and among all the birdies made an eagle on the seventh, where she went on – 6 for the day.

Before the third round, Sagström, Tavatankit and Sei Young Kim went out as shared leaders with – 10.

The LPGA Tour will continue in Asia with events in Singapore and China over the next two weeks.
