IFK Gothenburg’s giant crisis in the Allsvenskan continues.
Then Glenn Hysén says what all Blåvitt supporters are thinking – with a perfectly clear message.
“I’m behind you like a pig,” he writes, among other things.
It has been a turbulent season to say the least for IFK Gothenburg. Even before this year’s Allsvenskan began, they had made a big change on the leadership side, when coach Mikael Stahre was fired, after a weak cup game.
Another heavy loss
Under the leadership of temporary coaches, IFK Göteborg struggled throughout the spring, and there was only one win before the break. On Monday, a new must-match was waiting for the next junior, when Varberg, placed last in the Allsvenskan, was waiting at home for Ullevi. But there was another loss.
Blåvitt conceded 1-0 early in the second half, and in the final stage of the match Varberg was also able to counter with 2-0. A late penalty reduction did not help, and Blåvitt is thus left with just one win in 14 games played. For Varberg, it was the first (!) win of the year, and the two west coast teams are thus on the same score with almost half the series played.

Glenn Hysén’s clear words
It is not easy to recognize IFK Gothenburg from the glory days of the 80s and 90s, and many icons are now critical. Including Glenn Hysén, the legendary centre-back who still has warm feelings for his Blåvitt. Right after the loss yesterday, he took to Twitter and wrote an angry Tweet that really all Blåvitt supporters can get behind.
Glenn Hysén is known for being outspoken on Twitter, and this time was no exception.
“Now you bastards, it’s time to fight, old men. I’m behind you like a pig. THEY SHIT SOMETIMES. NOW FAAN APPLIES D. IN with STAKE. DON’T FOLLOW UP NOW WHEN IT APPLIES”, he writes.
For IFK Göteborg now, in the next round, series leader Elfsborg awaits away. In the same round, the old Varberg and AIK, third from the end, meet in a real anxiety match.
