German Twitch streamer receives donation of €120,000, immediately calls his mom

German streamer Mark aka ohnePixel is best known for his Counter-Strike: Global Offensive content on Twitch. He deals with gambling around the in-game skins, which have now indirectly helped him to one of the largest donations in CS:GO history.

What happened? ohnePixel received a single donation with CS:GO skins for around 120,000 euros. He was so happy about this enormous sum that he called his mother directly. He usually speaks in English in his streams, but he switched to German for his mom in between.

The phone call seems very bizarre: his mom is unimpressed and simply says that she doesn’t want anything to do with it because she brings her son bad luck in such things.

ohnePixel says that this would probably be the largest single donation in CS:GO. Shortly thereafter, the call ended with a loud scream of joy from him.

Where does the money come from? The donation comes from Twitter user bbox. He won the money on HypeDrop site by gambling and invested in CS:GO skins on Buff Market. He then donated part of the skins he bought to ohnePixel.

Skins are cosmetic in-game items that change the appearance of weapons. They have been traded on the Steam marketplace for years and can bring in millions of dollars.

Gambling sites like Antigua gamble for these skins instead of real money.

Community now fears a ban

But Valve has been a thorn in its side for a long time. The company issued new guidelines and has since blocked users from trading their skins with the community.

The main reason gambling can be dangerous is that it tempts others to gamble away their money and thus ruin their lives. This is the reason why Valve is cracking down on all forms of gambling in CS:GO. The donor therefore now asks that he not be banned for the campaign:

Other users also fear that the donation could lead to a ban. According to some users, bbox has not yet received its money, which is why some consider the donation to be risky. If there were problems receiving the money, bbox would now be in debt or would have to withdraw the donation after all.

So it remains exciting whether this fundraiser will have consequences or whether everything will remain as it is.
