Full in the drunk cells after Skvalborg

Already at “skvalborg”, two days before Walborg itself, the drunken cells were filled to the brim in Uppsala, writes UNT.
– It wasn’t a particularly messy evening, but I would say it was wet. We took in 33 people, says Magnus Jansson Klarin at the police in Uppsala to TV4 Nyheterna.

In Uppsala, the Walborg holiday has become more of a holiday week.

The feast days are in order; skvalborg, qualborg, valborg, finalborg and the slightly less established catastrophicborg on Tuesday.

Although the drunken cells were already almost full at Skvalborg, the Uppsala police expect that the biggest party day will be on the eve of Walborg fair itself.

– It is Valborg itself that is usually the messiest. Then it’s white water rafting and hat donning, and many people hang out in parks, says Jansson Klarin.

Counting on a Västerås

The police expect 100,000-150,000 to travel – roughly the size of Västerås in terms of population.

– People were still a little cautious last year. Now we see tendencies that the interest is very large, says Jansson Klarin.

To manage the party, the police have planned for almost a year and called in extra resources from other regions. Fyllecell places have been added and preparedness turned up.

– It is usually a public celebration, even if many people are taken care of.
