Frida Karlsson speaks straight from the heart and pays tribute to Linn Svahn in the most beautiful way – the words about the teammate warm everyone’s heart

Linn Svahn is back on top of the world again.
Now Frida Karlsson pays tribute to her teammate in the finest way.
– She is like family to me. We have become very close, she admits to the Norwegian Dagbladet.

Already as a 20-year-old hit Lynn Svahn through with a thud and crash. But with her unique personality, she became a breath of fresh air at the World Cup and with her incredible speed, she was an instant success.

Svahn’s adversity

Before the WC 2021 in Oberstdorf, she was mentioned as a possible WC queen who could challenge herself Therese Johaug. But then the inevitable happened when Svahn fell in a World Cup race and suffered a serious shoulder injury that would take two years to heal.

The WC 2021 was destroyed, as were the Winter Olympics 2022 and only in December 2022 could she make a comeback again after double operations and a far too long rehabilitation. But she still didn’t have time to get back to great form in the WC 2023 in Planica and again missed out on winning a championship medal.

Linn’s revenge

But now the big revenge has come for Linn Svahn, who got his vindication and won the first World Cup race in 1,063 long days. During the Tour de Ski, the 24-year-old was a great success and won three of seven stages. And finally she is back at the top of the world again.
– Linn always follows her inner compass and knows what she wants, says the teammate Frida Karlsson to the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet.

Karlsson is the same age as Svahn and has known her since she was a teenager. She never forgets how motivated Linn was already at a young age and how much she was passionate about skiing.
– I remember when we were 14-15 years old. Then I got stressed by her. She trained an awful lot, while I played more soccer. She was just as tough then as she is now, says Frida in the interview and is supported by her teammate.
– Lol! That’s right, yes, answers Linn.

Frida’s tribute

The duo then became even closer when they chose to leave the national ski team together Maja Dahlqvist to train on his own during last year’s season.
– She is like family to me. We have become very close. It was when we broke away from the national team and I moved to Östersund, that we got really close. We talked every day and did everything together. It was strong, says Karlsson to the Norwegian newspaper.

Now Frida Karlsson pays tribute to her teammate in the best way and speaks straight from the heart to describe Linn Svahn’s journey in recent years.
– She takes everything a little more calmly now. She has had great challenges with the injury, and a lot of time to seek inner motivation. I was the same. When I was a junior, I just wanted to assert myself, that was the motivation. Now it comes more from within. It must be important on the inside and something that you enjoy. It should be the driving force, not that you want to show off, she says in the interview.
– She has gone through such a hard job. That she can finally stand first again means so much to her. She has proven that it works, says the national team coach Stefan Thomson.
