Frida Karlsson, Linn Svahn and Maja Dahlqvist’s new anger – after inappropriate behavior that arouses disgust: “They are idiots”

An image has created enormous reactions in the skiing world.
Now the Swedish ski stars are also entering the debate – and venting their great anger.
– It is disrespectful. They are idiots, say both Linn Svahn and Maja Dahlqvist to Expressen.

The Norwegian Kasper Moen Flatla has created an infected debate within the skiing world. When he was out on a training session in Asker, he took a picture that caused extremely strong reactions among all the cross-country skiers.

In the mentioned image, which Flatla published on X (formerly Twitter), you can clearly see how two people are out for a walk. Quite innocent really but not if you look closer, see the picture below.

Because they go straight over newly groomed ski tracks and that hurts the soul of all skiers.
“Can someone explain to me what’s so good about walking on freshly groomed ski tracks?”, writes the Norwegian along with the picture of X.

Dahlqvist’s anger

The picture has aroused great disgust around the skiing world, where many think it is highly inappropriate to walk over freshly groomed ski tracks. But it has also become a watershed, because there are also those who question where the two people will go otherwise.

Now the Swedish national team stars enter the debate and put their foot down with clear anger at the inappropriate behavior, see the picture below.
– Of these two camps, I agree that they are idiots who follow the path when you can walk alongside, says Maja Dahlqvist to Expressen.
– Of course it is disturbing. If there are only two who are out and about, it’s okay, but if there are many who have been out, it’s something else. Then it’s a shame for both those who prepared the tracks and those who will use them. The point gets lost a bit.

Svahn irritated

The national team colleague Lynn Svahn is also equally annoyed.
– When you go out on newly groomed and untouched tracks, it’s the best there is. You feel free. Then you see something that looks like moose hooves, but it’s shoes that have trampled down the snow, then it’s not as fun, she tells the evening newspaper.
– If I see someone who is out and about, I ask: “What are you doing here?”. There are many people who work hard to get them good and it is a little disrespectful to them and to us who will use them.

Frida Karlsson is not as upset as his teammates but still thinks it is wrong to cross ski tracks.
– I think… So, the tracks are not groomed for walking on them. So I agree with the person who took the picture, she says in the interview and admits what she does if she sees someone crossing a ski track.
– I’m not an angry old man who stands and shouts with his fist, but I think things. I think they spoil it a bit for us skiers, there are other places to walk.
