Frida Karlsson breaks the silence – the first words about the announcement that makes the whole of Sweden cheer: “The most important thing is…”

Frida Karlsson, Maja Dahlqvist and Linn Svahn are back in the Swedish national team.
Now Frida Karlsson breaks the silence about the wonderful news.
– We will take advantage of the fact that we have such a very strong women’s team and then it feels right to come back, she says.

It hit like a bomb last year that Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist, two of Sweden’s biggest stars in winter sports, chose to leave the Swedish national team for a venture of their own. Before that, Linn Svahn had also made the same decision.

Karlsson’s first words

But over the past year, the talk has constantly been that Karlsson and Dahlqvist are on their way back, and the national team has always said that is the big goal. And yesterday came the news that all of Sweden was longing to hear. The breakout trio Karlsson, Dahlqvist and Svahn are now back in the Swedish national team full-time.

Frida Karlsson believes that the national team has taken on board the criticism that led to the dropout, and a more open dialogue regarding, for example, training arrangements and travel means that they now choose to go back, reveals the star.

– We will take advantage of the fact that we have such a very strong women’s team and then it feels right to come back. The most important thing for me was to get a plan where I get to do what I believe in and that it fits in with my investment, says Frida Karlsson according to SVT, and continues:

– We have grasped what we wanted to influence and have made it more optimal for everyone. It feels good and many people are looking forward to the training year. We have tried to figure out how we can best help each other and take advantage of the fact that we have some of the world’s best girls in the team.

Linn Svahn believes that the trio did not make any demands, but rather a clear dialogue from both parties.

– Well, it’s not about demands here or there. But about having a dialogue about how we can develop the national team to become even better. The conditions required to develop are in the national team now and it feels great.

Maja Dahlqvist points to how extremely successful the women’s national team was already last year, and how this will help everyone reach new levels.

– It is a unique situation that we have as we took 11 out of 14 WC medals. If we can use all the girls we have and get even better, how many medals can we get? It can be full pot, says Maja Dahlqvist.
