Fredrik Olofsson’s first NHL goal this season in the Colorado Avalanche’s crushing

Fredrik Olofsson delivered his first goal of the season as his Colorado crushed Anaheim 8–2.

The Swede’s goal came in the second period and meant 3–1 for Colorado, a result that stood before the final period.

There, things really got loose for the home team, who scored five goals in just under twelve minutes. Anaheim didn’t have much to counter, though Jakob Silfverberg was noted for an assist when Max Jones gave the visitors a consolation goal.

…even Wennberg

Another Swede who scored his first goal of the season in the night’s round of NHL ice hockey was Alexander Wennberg. It wasn’t enough for his Seattle, however, which fell in overtime 3-4 after Edmonton tied the game with just seconds left in the third period.

For the away team Seattle, it was otherwise looking good when Wennberg got his goal at the end of the middle period after being served the puck in front of Edmonton’s goal cage by the Dane Oliver Bjorkstrandgiving it a 3–1 lead heading into the third.

That’s where the Edmontons stepped Evander Kane forward. First, he was responsible for a reduction with just under seven minutes left after being assisted by Matthias Ekholm – and when the clock showed 19.14 he scored again in a messy situation in front of goal where the home team played in numerical superiority after picking out the goalkeeper.

In extra time, Kane then managed to complete his hat-trick after an elegant play from Evan Bouchard.
