Fortnite is reportedly removing the “trick” that allowed you to level up the Battle Pass, making a game mode for farming useless

With Update 29.00 came some changes Fortnite. Epic has apparently removed the XP bonus when you play LEGO mode. Many players are now complaining about this because it makes the game mode almost useless in the eyes of many users. At least if you want to level up the Battle Pass.

The Battle Pass is one of the core elements in Fortnite. Because with all the tasks and things you do in the game, you collect experience points that you can use to unlock new skins or items. Players are therefore always looking for suitable ways to gain experience particularly easily.

But Epic has now apparently adapted the LEGO mode. At least a number of players are complaining that they no longer receive experience in LEGO Fortnite. MeinMMO explains what’s behind it.

Did Epic intentionally remove the XP bonus or is this just a mistake?

What kind of trick was that? Players report on reddit and in another post on reddit that they are no longer earning experience points for the Battle Pass when they play LEGO Fortnite. Previously, experience points increased the longer you played the game mode. Many are surprised why this option has now disappeared and hope that it is just a mistake on Epic’s part.

After a test in the editorial office, we can confirm that we can no longer gain experience in LEGO mode by just standing around.

What reason could there be for the removal? Some probably used the trick very intensively, put themselves AFK in LEGO mode for 3 hours and earned several levels for their Battle Pass – and all without any effort. Some are now speculating that Epic has removed this “glitch” so that it is no longer as easy to collect XP for the Battle Pass. Because that’s not the point of using the game mode in this way.

However, others believe that the LEGO mode would be almost useless because you can hardly make any meaningful progress for the Battle Pass with the mode. If you ignore the tasks that only give you 2,000 XP each, which are hardly worth it anyway.

Has Epic commented on this yet? No, so far there is no indication of the experience points in LEGO mode. In the current patch notes they only commented on the new LEGO sets and the fixed errors (via fortnite.com).

More anger about LEGO: By the way, that’s not the only trouble that LEGO mode is currently causing. The new, paid sets are also anything but well received by players. You can read what’s behind it and why you would have to pay over 50 euros for it directly on MeinMMO:

LEGO Fortnite is getting fancy new content, but if you want it you have to pay up to 55 euros
