Football: Häcken won the derby against IFK Gothenburg – after Andreas Linde’s sharp double save

Hecken catches on in the Allsvenskan top.

They do it after defeating Gothenburg’s rival IFK Gothenburg away at Gamla Ullevi with 1-0 on Wednesday evening.

The post saved IFK Gothenburg

The only goal of the match came just before the break. Amor Layouni received a long ball on the right wing, drifted into the pitch and produced a fine finish that went in at the far post.

– Important, he said of the goal to Discovery+ during the break.

Otherwise, it was the home team that had most of the game and most of the chances in the first half. The closest they came was just a couple of minutes before Layouni’s goal.

Left-back Sebastian Hausner finished from his left flank, and goalkeeper Andreas Linde dropped a rebound. Thomas Santos had a great opportunity on the rebound, but Linde also saved that shot – via the post.

“Very repressed”

Even in the second half, it was very IFK Göteborg at times, but they never managed to equalise.

– We work as a team, rock hard. In the second half we get really pushed back early, but we persevere. Good job by the whole team, says Andreas Linde, who has never kept a clean sheet with Häcken before.

The loss was IFK Göteborg’s third in five rounds in the Allsvenskan. Häcken, on the other hand, has three wins and hangs on Malmö FF and AIK at the top of the table. Amor Layouni hopes that Häcken can stay there even longer than last year.

– I absolutely believe that we can challenge Malmö. We take steps every week, I think, he says, according to TT.
