Flood SIMEST 700 million of funds managed on behalf of

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – SIMEST – the CDP Group company that supports the growth of Italian companies around the world – approved a package of measures for a total of 700 million euros, in support of companies affected by the recent flood.

It’s about three ad hoc measures structured as follows:

Non-repayable contributions of 300 million euros. The resources will be allocated to refreshments aimed at exporting companies in the territories affected by the flood both for material damage suffered to movable and immovable property (e.g. buildings, equipment, machinery, stocks) and for loss of income due to the drop in turnover.
Subsidized loans for 400 million euros from the 394/81 fund managed on behalf of the Farnesina. The resources will be disbursed in the form of loans at subsidized rates with non-repayable shares of 10% and exemption from guarantees. The measure will be accessible not only to exporting companies but also to all companies in the local production chain.
Payment moratorium. SIMEST envisages a 12-month suspension of principal and interest payments on all outstanding loans under Fondo 394 and on the PNRR / Fondo 394 measure, without prejudice to the maximum duration of the loan granted.

“The businesses of the areas affected by the floods of recent days – he commented Pasquale Salzano, President of SIMEST – represent a central part of our economic system. Some of the best Made in Italy industrial realities are based in the regions involved in the event. With the measures approved today, SIMEST consolidates its role in supporting the national economy thanks to the close synergy with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with all the players in the country system, confirming once again as a key player in support of the ‘economy”.

“The aid package that SIMEST has earmarked for companies affected by the flood – he declared Regina Corradini D’Arienzo, Chief Executive Officer of SIMEST – represents concrete support for responding promptly to emergencies and promoting a return to normality in the shortest possible time. Numerous production realities were damaged, mainly SMEs, in an area heavily dedicated to internationalization. For this reason, we have aimed to support the widest range of companies, addressing, for the first time, the measures not only to exporting companies, but also to their supply chains. A solid support for a total value of €700 million – of which 300 as a non-repayable grant – which will be available in a very short time”.
