But the main reason, according to Smit, is a problem with collecting the water board tax. This is done for AGV by the implementing organization Waternet, but it did not go well. AGV therefore received the money later than expected, which in turn causes new problems, says Smit. “We receive tax revenue later and then you have to get a bridging loan. That used to be very cheap, then you received money, so to speak, but the interest rate has risen and now it costs more money. We want our tax faster from now on can collect, but the introduction of that system is taking longer than expected.”
