The government wants to increase the judiciary’s allocation by 1.4 billion kroner in 2023. The police will receive an increase of just over 0.9 billion kroner. A third of that sum must be used to increase the number of police employees. In total, the government proposes in the budget bill that the allocations to the judiciary be increased by almost five billion kroner over the next three years. This mainly includes the police, the correctional service, Sweden’s courts and the public prosecutor’s office. – There is no doubt that this is one of the biggest tasks for the government, says Minister of Justice, Gunnar Strömmer at a press conference on the fight against crime.
