First trailer for the award winning Triangle of Sadness

There is usually not much to smile about when it comes to the winning films of the Palme d’Or at Cannes. That was different at the traditional film festival this year. Because the satire Triangle of Sadness by Ruben Östlund (force majeure) won the main prize. The satire, starring Woody Harrelson and Iris Berben, sent the seaside town theaters screaming with the sickest and funniest movie sequence of the year. Now you can make your own impression in a first trailer.

Triangle of Sadness – Trailer (English) HD

In Triangle of Sadness, a cruise with the super-rich escalates

There isn’t much time for sadness in Triangle of Sadness, that’s clear from the first minute. In the film, a luxury cruise ship full of the super-rich sets sail, including influencer Yaya (Charlbi Dean) and her failed model boyfriend (Harris Dickinson). The two are far removed from the wealth of the other guests (including Iris Berben and Sunnyi Melles), but they are no less proud of their own status. This is put to the test when the ship under the Marxist captain (Woody Harrelson) gets into stormy waters – and the class system is thrown upside down.

The puke storm sequence in Triangle of Sadness was the funniest thing to see at Cannes this year, partly because it’s incredibly gross at times. But the satire also has other things to offer, most notably Iris Berben in an extremely entertaining role that has more in common with Vin Diesel’s Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy than one might first think.

The award-winning satire has already been released in cinemas

In Germany Triangle of Sadness arrives October 13, 2022 to the cinemas. Then the local audience can convince themselves of the most disgusting film moment of the year and decide whether Ruben Östlund deserves his second palm win after The Square.
