Finns spread love to their friends on Valentine’s Day

The Finns have celebrated Vändagen since the 1980s. Why it was Wednesday, nobody seems to know. One theory is that the day was first adopted by various ideal organizations, including the Heart Association and the Red Cross.

Celebrated with dinner

Ella-Claudia grew up in Finland. She knows how Equinox should be celebrated:

– For me, Vändagen is always celebrated together with my best girl friends. The focus has always been on friends.

Marko Haatainen is single and he prefers the Finnish option.

– Friend’s Day is much more to celebrate than Valentine’s Day. Not everyone even has a heart to celebrate with, but everyone has a friend.
