Politicians: ‘It’s raining complaints’

The Staten factions in the province of Utrecht are concerned. In a committee meeting this week, politicians from GroenLinks and the PvdA said that there are a lot of complaints about U-OV’s new timetable. The faction UtrechtNu! calls the cut in the number of city buses “disappointing”.

Mobility deputy André van Schie is also disappointed. There will be fewer buses running than agreed with the province. “I share your feeling of powerlessness,” he said. He said he will continue to talk intensively with the carriers about what is and is not possible.

Previously, sixteen municipalities in the province of Utrecht jointly raised the alarm about the phasing out of bus transport. They are concerned about new residential areas that are becoming less accessible than previously thought.
