Samsung is not only relying on its smartphones to start 2023 with a bang. The Korean giant has also just renewed its range of portable PCs with five neatly designed Galaxy Books… and at higher prices.

On the sidelines of the announcements of the new Galaxy S23 smartphones presented at the Unpacked conference on 1er February (see our article), Samsung also unveiled its new generation of Galaxy Book3 laptops. On the program, not three models as for smartphones but five: Galaxy Book3, Galaxy Book3 Pro, Galaxy Book3 360, Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 and finally Galaxy Book3 Ultra. Portable PCs to be classified in the high-end category which, in addition to a particularly neat design, also adopt attractive technical characteristics… and prices to match. With its new Galaxy Book3, Samsung is primarily targeting an audience already won over by its Galaxy smartphones by fully playing the card of connectivity and harmony with its mobile phones to quickly switch from one device to another or use the two simultaneously.

Samsung Galaxy Book3: a polished design

All models in the Galaxy Book3 range offer a very neat finish very close to what is found at Apple with its MacBooks. The aluminum frame makes the machine look great. The weight as the thickness are also well controlled. Note that on models stamped “360”, the screen can be rotated 360° to transform the computer into a touch pad. They also come with an S-Pen style to draw or take notes. The set exudes sobriety with a very pleasant premium appearance.

Samsung Galaxy Book3: Promising technical characteristics

In addition to the design, Samsung has also taken care of the engine of its laptops. Apart from the very first model (15.6 inches) which has an LCD screen, all the other Galaxy Book3 have an AMOLED screen. Enough to obtain infinite contrasts. Pro models like the ultra also benefit from a 120 Hz refresh rate (compared to 60 Hz for the others). To run the whole thing, the Galaxy Book3 have, depending on the model, processors from 13th Intel generation. A Core i7 U on the Galaxy Book3, a Core i5 P or i7 P for the following models and even a Core i7 or i9 H on the Ultra model, the highest end. Special feature for the latter: the presence of an nVidia RTX 4050 graphics card on the Book Ultra equipped with a core i7 and an RTX 4070 on the one powered by a Core i9.
