In 1987 FC Utrecht was eliminated by TOP Oss – then still in the big league. In 1996 FC Utrecht lost at home to the amateurs of SC Feyenoord. A year later, a game was lost to Noordwijk. In the last two cases it was a group match, FC Utrecht was eliminated in both cases.
The biggest victory against an amateur club was achieved by FC Utrecht in the first round of the 2005-2006 season. Away against fellow townsman Elinkwijk it then became 10-0 thanks to goals from Marc-Antoine Fortuné (2), Stefaan Tanghe (2), Dwight Tiendalli (2), Robin Nelisse (2), Tim Cornelisse and Dave van den Bergh.
