Fatigue 4 surprising drinks to wake up without caffeine

It’s not just coffee that has a boost! For those who don’t like it or need to reduce their consumption, here are equally effective alternatives.

Coffee is the hot drink most consumed by the French but not everyone likes it. You also sometimes have to do without it for health reasons. So what to drink when you need a boost in the morning (or even in the afternoon during digestion)? here are the alternatives offered to us by Alexia Karako, naturopath in Paris.

Warm lemon water on an empty stomach

Drinking lemon water in the morning helps boost the body while stimulating the immune system. “Endowed with detoxifying and diuretic properties, lemon is also rich in vitamin C, which has an energizing action. For an even more invigorating action, it is possible toadd ginger root“, says Alexia Karako. To prepare this drink, nothing could be simpler: just mix half a lemon or a whole lemon, preferably organic, in 500ml of hot water. It should be consumed preferably in the morning on an empty stomach but you can take 1 to 3 cups per day in case of sluggishness. Be careful, however, this drink is not recommended in cases of gastric reflux.

A golden milk with turmeric to energize yourself

The “golden latte”, also called golden milk or golden milk with turmeric, is an energizing drink that represents an excellent alternative to coffee. Developed from vegetable milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper and coconut oil, the golden latte has anti-inflammatory and energizing properties for a gentle awakening. Our naturopath recommends consuming two or even three cups per day.

Chicory: no more than 3 cups

It is certainly the best-known alternative to coffee. Of plant origin, the chicory helps boost the body without caffeine. “It is rich in fiber and minerals, thus promoting the transit and elimination of toxins. It is possible to consume up to three cups a day”, explains the naturopath.

Organic green tea

Although it contains less theine (the equivalent of caffeine for tea) than coffee, green tea has a recognized anti-fatigue action. This drink is also popular for its antioxidant properties, it helps fight against cell aging. It also promotes weight loss and reduces cholesterol levels. According to the naturopath, it is possible to drink up to three or even four cups per day, but not after 4 p.m. because theine interferes with falling asleep.

Without forgetting to go for a walk…

Once you’ve swallowed your hot drink, there’s nothing like breathing in the fresh air outside to wake you up! “Besides the cooling effect, the fresh air increases oxygenation of the bodywhich improves cognitive functions and activates circulation of all body fluidsexplains our interlocutor. The best thing is to go for a walk. Especially since exposing yourself to light sends the signal to the brain that it is time to start your day. More generally, doing sports first thing in the morning gently wakes up the body, muscles and mind. The release of endorphins regulates mood and reduces stress, which allows you to start the day in the best possible mood. If you don’t have time to do a swimming, running or exercise bike session, a yoga session or muscular awakening is enough. The idea is simply to get moving!
