ESPN The NBA changed the result of the previous days

A rare statistical error occurred in the opening game between Portland and Golden State.

The NBA basketball league changed the outcome of the Portland-Golden State game played the previous day on Thursday, reports ESPN. Golden State’s 139–104 victory was originally recorded as the final result, but the new final result is 140–104.

The reason was a rare statistical error. Golden State De’Anthony Melton made the first of two free throws at the end of the third quarter, but both were recorded as missed in the statistics.

According to ESPN, the extra point recorded for Golden State did not change the results of the betting related to the match.

Golden State’s 140 points are the most in NBA history in a season opener against Portland. Even 139 points would have been enough for this record.
