Eric Salobir, 53, is on a mission, in every sense of the word. This Dominican priest, who also advises the pope on digital issues, devotes his energy to ensuring that technological development is accompanied by ethical awareness.

Through the Human Technology Foundation, which he created five years ago, he tries to persuade the leaders of global tech and those who finance it, that they must adhere to a certain number of principles, at the center of which is the human: the employees, the subcontractors, and of course the customers, who have often been mistreated.

He defends the idea that the future value of companies and large investment funds will depend on their social and environmental commitments. There is no shortage of subjects, between the excesses of social networks whose economic model is based on excess and polarization, violations of privacy or the risks of artificial intelligence, ever more powerful and opaque in operation, of which skids are feared.

In this episode of Control F, the Dominican priest describes his fight: to convince again and again the big bosses of tech as well as the financiers of the merits of his action. The task is difficult.
