It was a repeat of yesterday’s competition, with Henrik von Eckermann in top and Peder Fredricson in second.
The duo were two of seven to advance to the jump-off after flawless performances in the preliminary round.
– You are completely overwhelmed. I don’t think people understand how difficult this is, stated SVT Sports expert Lotta Björe.
Exciting deal
Once in the jump-off, it was an exciting showdown between the Swedes. Fredricson, who went out second last, took the lead with a clear time of 45.45.
von Eckermann did not want to be worse, and he too was faultless with a time of 43.38.
– It’s an incredible feeling, it couldn’t be better, he says.
“It’s outclassing”
With the horse King Edward, von Eckermann took home the victory.
– It’s outclassing, says Lotta Björe about the Swedes’ effort.
Fredricson is satisfied after his new second place.
– It was a good Swedish day yesterday and it was a good day now too. We’re just going to change the order a little more on Saturday, he says.
American Jill Humphrey was third in Thursday’s competition with a time of 48.36.
The World Cup weekend continues with dressage on SVT1/Play starting at 4.05pm on Friday.
