(Finance) – Eni gas and light – Plenitude is strengthened in the USA in renewable energy, by purchasing through the subsidiary Eni New Energy US, two plants in Texas for a total capacity of 466 MW, developed by the renewable energy company BayWa re The operation was conducted by Novis Renewablesthe partnership between Eni New Energy US And Falck Renewablesdedicated to the development of solar, wind and storage projects.

In particular, Eni New Energy US acquired the Corazon I photovoltaic plantof approximately 266 MW, located in Webb County (Texas (USA), in operation from August 2021. The site will produce approximately 500 GWh per yearallowing a reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere equivalent to approximately 250,000 tons / year.

The company then acquired the Guajillo storage projectof approximately 200 MW / 400 MWh, currently in the advanced development phase, which will be operational before the end of 2023. Guajillo will use the same interconnection infrastructures of the Corazon I photovoltaic plant and will support the local grid by storing energy when the generation of energy renewable is high and releasing it when it is most needed to meet consumption peaks.
