This year’s ski season has finally started when the skiers had made it to Finland’s Ruka for the World Cup premiere.
And it was a Swedish success right away on the women’s side.
Emma Ribom took home the victory, while Johanna Hagström finished second.
Finland’s Ruka was ready when the World Cup in skiing started with sprints on Friday. On the women’s side, all six Swedes progressed from the qualifier i Johanna Hagström, Emma Ribom, Maja Dahlqvist, Anna Dyvik, Frida Karlsson and Ingrid Hallquist.
Triple Swedish in the final
Emma Ribom and Maja Dahlqvist then advanced to the final after a strong sprint in their semi-final heat. In the second semi-final there were Frida Karlsson and Johanna Hagström, and for the former it stopped. But Hagström stood for another great race and advanced in superior style to the final together with Emma Ribom and Maja Dahlqvist.

Once there, Emma Ribom took her first World Cup victory in her career when she drove home the final, while Johanna Hagström finished second.
