Elvira Öberg’s clear anger – opens up after the big disappointment where everything went wrong: “It all sucks”

Everything went wrong for Elvira Öberg this weekend.
After the finish at Sunday’s chase start, the Swede was hugely disappointed.
– It’s not fun, it ruins the day, she admits to SVT.

Elvira Öberg had a very good starting position when she finished fifth at the chase start in Ruhpolding on Sunday. But things went wrong right away when the Swedish star missed two shots already on the lying shooter.

Öberg’s anger

She never really managed to recover from it and missed a total of five out of twenty shots. Öberg plummeted down the leaderboard and finished in 18th place, which is a big disappointment for her standards.

Elvira, who is third in the overall World Cup, was very disappointed with her performance. With barely a month to go until the Biathlon World Cup in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic, she vents her anger on herself.
– I’m starting to have a lot of “edges” now, says little sister Öberg to SVT.
– Two plus two (boom) lying down, then you get so tired. You lose focus and the tag a little. It’s not fun, it ruins the day.

“Is very bad”

The usually safe and fast Elvira Öberg was also not satisfied with her ride.
– I feel that I have to tear into the groove. It works to go behind people’s backs, but keeping the speed yourself is not possible today. I do not really understand. It’s a bit frustrating when the shooting goes really bad and the riding doesn’t go as well as you’d like either. It was a bad day, she tells the TV channel.

Best Swedish became big sister Hanna Öberg who had the third best overall time in the pursuit start despite a crash, which was enough for eighth place after starting 27th. She is also coming off a tough period with weak results and illness this winter.
– I am very satisfied with the shooter. I still have to work very hard to be as determined as I want to be in “lying”, but it is a step in the right direction. And “standing” feels exactly like I want it to, she says in a statement.
